Cross Country Road Trip

Lesley and I woke up early on December 26, 2009 to start our cross country journey. We traveled for three days, and had a great time traveling from Eclectic, Alabama to Las Vegas, Nevada. Here are some pictures from our trip. We stopped at every state "Welcome" sign possible.

Saying goodbye to 35 Underwood

We stopped in Birmingham so that
I could see my friend, Jessica.

Jessica's amazing parents woke up early to
send me off with a hug... they are the best!

Lesley was useless to me for the first 5 hours,
but then she woke up and kept me company.

Mississippi... I had to wake Les up to take my picture!

Tennessee... The Volunteer State

Arkansas... The Natural State

Oklahoma... The Sooner State. This is where Lesley started singing "Oklahoma where the wind blows." She wouldn't stop!

After a little car maintenance, Lesley and I
turned in for the night in Oklahoma City!

Texas... The Lone Star State

New Mexico... The Sunshine State. I think that this great statewins the award for prettiest welcome sign (in my opinion).

Arizona... The Grand Canyon State

Nevada... The Silver State

Arriving at Altessa, Gavin's apartment complex.

Finally!! AHHH, so happy!

After we unpacked and grabbed some food, we set out to show Lesley a good time in Las Vegas. We went to the Stratosphere (the needle-looking hotel) to ride the ride on top of the needle. Here are a few pictures from the visit to the strip.

with the rest of the strip behind us.

This is one of the rides that spins you out
over the side of the building. Very scary!

A big thank you to Lesley for taking the three-
day road trip to get me out to Las Vegas!
